Thor was briefly a coffee cat in 2020. His previous elderly owner couldn't cope with this young, handsome, friendly, energetic and rather large boy but we thought he'd be a purrfect addition to our new cat café (reminiscent of Rufus, for those that remember our recent ginger floof) 😸
At that time, Ethel, a kitten, had just arrived at the cafe. Despite Thor looking like her 'brother from another mother', she was quite nervous and would hide whenever he was around.
As with Rufus, we came to the reluctant conclusion that Thor, was not suited for our limited space and would be more content in a larger home.
Fortunately, Jane, who frequently visited and was a friend of coffee cats, had quickly developed a strong affection for him and volunteered to take care of him temporarily while we searched for his permanent home. He adapted comfortably to living with Jane's other cats, and what we lost, Jane gained, as he was officially adopted ❤️🐾
Fast forward to 2024 - Jane had been considering for a while that, with his attractive appearance and sociable personality, he might be a good fit for participating in a cat show. This month, he had his first appearance at #lovingcatsworldwide in Doncaster.
He was very popular with the public, did very well in the inclusive category of 'household pet - adult' and was only a few points behind the overall winner🏅 Not bad, for a first outing and in what must've been a very strange (and very warm) day out for him😸
Needless to say he will be starring in a show near, or quite near, you again in the future 😸. Well done Thor & Jane 👏 and thank you to the coffee cat followers who made it to Doncaster to cheer him on. 😽
