Number 12 North
Recently we added a framed picture of Larry, the Downing Street Cat, to our collection. Given his status as the feline counterpart to a national leader, we figured it would be a fitting tribute that everyone would a-purr-ciate. Here, at Number 12 North we seem to have two distinct parties : The Furries - a proud old‑guard party who believe in proper grooming, communal naps, and the right to sit on any chair they choose; and The Independents - a cool party who believe in al

In Loving Memory
Earlier this year, we sadly lost a long-time supporter and friend of Coffee Cats. Our relationship with Kay started during the first lockdown, when she offered her help at a time when kindness meant everything. Although Kay wasn’t able to visit often in recent years, we kept in touch and after her death, we received a monetary gift in her memory. To honor Kay’s kindness and friendship, we’ve used some of the money to purchase a stylish, cat-sized chaise-lounge fit for our reg

Alfie and his Bag for Life
When visiting the café, if you’ve spotted a little shoulder bag that looks as though it’s seen better days and wondered why it's still on display, we promise it’s there for a very im-paw-tant reason🐾🐾 That well‑loved small, white-ish shoulder bag has been lovingly adopted by Alfie and is part of his treasured collection of toys he likes to carry around from room to room. So if you see it tucked somewhere unexpected, just know it’s not fur-gotten… it’s simply been on anothe

The Moo has moo-ved!
In early June, we were invited to visit another of our OGs — the Majestic Mary Moo — as she and her humans have moo-ved to a new home just outside Lincoln. Mary Moo at Coffee Cats Moo, a very fluffy black‑and‑white lady, is thoroughly spoilt by her humans - brothers Alex and Andrew, who’ve filled their home and garden with cosy perches and kitty pavilions fit for any queen! Those who knew her at Coffee Cats will remember her as being a bit aloof, keeping her distance from ev

Mark Anthony is feline a bit Blue
Earlier this month, we were invited to visit the one and only Mark Anthony — MA for short — as he recovered from his recent operation to remove three troublesome teeth. For those who’ve been with us a while, you’ll remember that MA was one of our original Coffee Cats before being rehomed in 2023. In true MA fashion, he didn’t just settle into his new home… he selected it. He politely dismissed every human who came before Michelle and Kevin, then promptly decided they were his

Coffee Cats tell-tails....
We have noticed that the humans have entered their annual phase of “improving things that were purr-fectly fine as they were.” They call it “Spring Cleaning.” First, they turned their attention to our beloved quirky staircase and gave it a fresh lick of paint. We were informed -quite rudely that our days of clawing and “adding texture” to the carpet are numbered. We’re not making any promises! Then came the upstairs doors. Painting them apparently required us to be “temporar

Pop in to our Pop-up shop this Easter
During the Frequency Festival in February, we trialled a few evening opening hours, turning our downstairs space into a Pop‑Up shop for merchandise and takeaway drinks. Meanwhile, the cats enjoyed their usual cat nap time upstairs—curled up snoozing, or snuggling together on the sofa watching their favourite shows, blissfully unaware of the bustle below. We learnt a lot and it gave us the confidence to try it again during the Easter and school holidays. These extra openings h

Lost and found.....
This "tale or tail " begins when Pepper, a young and friendly indoor cat, let her curiosity lead her astray. Ultimately, she ended up six weeks later on Yarborough Road, Lincoln—nearly a mile away from her home. The Search for Pepper Coffee Cats got involved after we were approached to help find a home for a 'lovely cat' that had been lingering around a woman's house for a while. She had started feeding the cat daily, as it seemed to be a stray. The woman took the cat to a ve
